This might be of inteerst to other regular travelers.
We've just bought a "Strong"
satellite tv setup from a local supplier. I think the price is very reasonable - $310.
If anyone in the
Melbourne area is interested the web address is
Telsat
I've encouraged them to advertise on EO so we may see them here soon. Apparently he plans ot be at the next Sandown caravan show.

The orice includes an Optus Aurora card which gives access to a number of free channels - ABC SBS 7. Can also use a SeclecTV card for pay channels

Thanks for that, so you got a $139 discount or a different setup to the one advertised for $449 in the link I posted in the above post.

I got the 80cm dish not the 65 and only needed 20m of cable. All otehr components are the same. So, yes a hefty discount.

Does the 65cm dish cost more than the 80cm dish as the 65cm dish would take up a lot less room.

No. The 65cm dish is $30 cheaper. The 80cm dish is genuine "Strong" and has a folding arm rather than the removable one. Still very light and will easily go on the roof rack. Apparently marginally better reception with the largeer dish but the 65cm one is still fine.

It's going to be a few weeks before I get time to setup the card and box.
Am I correct in thinking that I can only register the card with Optus when I have it in the box and the box switched on and set to Channel 185?

Almas,
Good move advertising here.
I started a year ago and just this week renewed for another year.
Advertising rates are very reasonable and results are very good.
Cheers,
Jim.

We'll have to meet.
Exchange brochures etc.
A lot of my customers tow vans and would be interested in Sat
TV, and alot of your customers who tow vans may need
drawers, fridge slide etc.
Cheers,
Jim.
